About the NJ EMS Fellowship

The Statewide EMS Fellowship is based at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, in conjunction with the Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Corporation (MONOC) EMS. With 500 providers and 22 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALS) units, one fully-equipped rotary (helicopter) and multiple specialty care transport units (SCTUs), we are the largest EMS System in New Jersey. We are one of the first Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) EMS Fellowship programs in the United States. We are the sole Tactical Medical Provider to the New Jersey State Police (2‐10 requests per week). In fact, we are one of the busiest EMS Physician organizations in the United States (up to 30 responses per week). We cover the entire State with a Statewide Physician 24/7 Response Program and six EMS Physician vehicles.

Dr. Mark Merlin (right) deserves a great deal of credit for his vision and perseverance in the creation of the Fellowship, which has been acknowledged here.

The EMS Fellowship is a great opportunity to learn and serve humanity.
