The Fellowship’s Pre-hospital experience is through RWJBarnabas Mobile health and the MD1 Program.
MD1 has worked with the fellowship since its beginning and they cover the entire state of NJ for Physician response. They are on the leading edge of pre-hospital medicine under Dr. Merlin the immediate past program director and current faculty of the fellowship. Through MD1 we have Field Trans-esophageal Echocardiography (TEE), one of the only programs delivering Low Titer O Whole Blood in the field, Pre-Hospital Ultrasound, and Field response in an MD1 vehicle.
RWJBarnabas Mobile Health provides the other side of EMS Physician experience. Integrated into a large system, the fellows have the opportunity to rotate with BLS, ALS (MICU), Supervisors, PICU transport, NICU transport, ECHO management & transport, and Helicopter. We develop their ride time base upon their prior EMS experience culminating with Field response in a fellowship vehicle.
