Wednesdays are our academic day. This is usually when all the fellows gather either in person or virtually with the faculty to go over cases, received lectures on the core curriculum or attending courses.
Our fellowship is separated into a 13 block schedule each about 4 weeks starting on july 1st. Generally the block will start on a monday.
The first month is dedicated to the fellows to train them how to be a fellow. This includes emergency driving, how to use our equipment, introductions to other members of the EMS team such as Medical Directors, Clinical Coordinators, Quality managers and much more.
After that they separate into 4 rotations which overlap slightly.
- Medical Director / Administration
- Research & Education
- Pre-Hospital Response
- Special Operations
Each block is managed by one of the core faculty and the fellow works closely with that faculty to manage their month on that rotation. We partner with local, state and federal partners to provide a truly unique fellowship.
Our goal is to expose the fellow to many aspects of EMS medicine as well as nurture their individual interest in EMS.
