Tactical Physician
Become a Tactical Physician.
Our Fellowship has a strong Tactical Emergency Medicine Service/Support (TEMS) component. We are the tactical physicians with the New Jersey State Police Technical Emergency and Mission Specialists (TEAMS) Unit (SWAT Team), and we are their primary physicians on call outs, raids, Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI), special events/details and barricades. We cover the entire state of New Jersey and support as many as 50 SWAT Members and up to 10 K9 Dogs. We have partnerships with local, state and federal agencies.
Our fellowship also prepares you with broad based TEMS knowledge as you train with SWAT, train in Medical Threat Assessments, and provide Trauma Care as the sole provider in the field. Additionally, we offer increased competency by completing all Incident Command Structure/System (ICS) Courses including IS-907 Active Shooter,Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), K9 TCCC, Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support (CONTOMS) Medical Directors Course, FDNY Medical Special Operations Course, and many more through FEMA and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
Option to attend the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) annual conference, and their pre-conference labs and courses.
